Whose Side is the Opposition On?

When the Opposition asked whether the surgical strikes after Uri had even happened or if it was just government progoganda, I felt it was very insulting. Not because governments don’t lie, not because the NDA/BJP is above lieing, but because the action in question was supposed to have been done by the Army. So was the Opposition saying that today even the Army is part of politics, that they would go along with such lies? If so, doesn’t it mean that the Army in India is no different than the army of dictatorships? And in such a scenario, would the Army allow any free and fair elections? If all this were true, surely we are facing a much bigger problem, a behind the scenes Emergency situation. So how come we don’t see the logical next step then, the Opposition up in arms against the “second” Emergency, except this time the Army is a part of it?

Not satisfied with their contradictions, this time after the air strikes in Balakot, the Opposition continues with its contradictory lies:
1)      Did the air strikes even happen? Well ok, if they didn’t and this is all just a big BJP + Army lie, then by definition, Pakistan sent out its air force without reason or provocation. And yet the Opposition has no problem with an unprovoked, without reason attack by Pakistan?
2)     Mamata asked to know the headcount of dead. And how does she propose we get that info, from the highly trustworthy “victims of terrorism”, the Pakistan power elite? And this woman is a PM contender? One shudders…
3)     And then there is Sam Pitroda, Congress’s Indian Overseas Chief, who says all of Pakistan cannot be blamed for either 26/11 or Pulwama:
“Eight people (26/11 terrorists) come and do something, you don't jump on entire nation (Pakistan).”
i)                   Wow! The West stopped that differentiation between terrorists and their hosts/trainers after 9/11. India seemed to have stopped it after 26/11, but not Pitroda or the Congress apparently.
ii)                 And only 8 people were responsible f0r 26/11? How about those trained them? How about those who funded and created/allowed the infrastructure to come up? As long as we have the likes of Pitroda in this country, the likes of Pakistan will always have someone who laps up their lies. I guess Siddhu isn’t the only Pakistan lover in the Congress.
4)     From Akhilesh Yadav’s SP party, RG Yadav accused the government of wanting the Pulwama attack to happen so they could gain political mileage. Modi’s tweet in response was spot on:
“Opposition is the natural habitat of terror apologists and questioners of our armed forces.”

Sure, this is election season. Sure, politics is ugly. But apparently our Opposition would rather question the Army than the enemy. Is it because our Army doesn’t have a religion whereas the enemy does?
